EcoLogic, the Canadian company that focuses on design solutions based on global environmental issues, using Autodesk's Digital Prototyping software.
In this case, Autodesk software is used to design and create the first car prototype car body using 3-dimensional printer.
Clean Tech Autodesk Partner Program, which provides software for the design to create clean energy company that is growing in North America and Europe, allowing KOR EcoLogic to design and test Urbee using Autodesk tools, including Autodesk Inventor software, Autodesk Showcase and Autodesk Design .
"Urbee from the start was designed to be as efficient as possible and use renewable energy," said Jim Kor, President and Chief Technology Officer for KOR EcoLogic.
"From concept to rendering, Autodesk software helped us not only in making cars more efficient and sustainable, but also to communicate our designs to a wider audience, including potential investors."
Using Autodesk partners digital manufacturing services from Stratasys, Urbee is the first car that the whole body 3D printed car with an additive process.
EcoLogic KOR team began by developing a set of basic principles and embed it in their den wall. Among these designs, Urbee designed to use minimal energy and produces pollution little as possible during the design, manufacture, operation, and recycling but still affordable and visually appealing.
Urbee electrical energy can be recharged using a standard electrical outlet is located at home, or through home solar panels, windmills or through conventional energy sources and only uses about 1 cent of energy per 1 mile of travel. "Companies clean-tech startup companies need technology that allows them to create a professional product, the design that has been realized and tested, as well as benefiting from stunning visual images of their products," said Robert Kross, senior vice president of Autodesk Manufacturing Industry Group.
Urbee team uses Autodesk Inventor software to design a 3D digital prototype of the car body and can be simulated with wind and road conditions, testing different car body design to minimize drag and reduce the overall weight of the car by eliminating redundant parts.
KOR EcoLogic using Autodesk Showcase visualization software to create photorealistic 3D renderings Urbee to be marketed to potential investors, partners, and the general public.
