Devices Opera Software Developer Kit (SDK) is a cross platform, 'standards-based backbone' Opera for TV sets and Blu-ray Disc players. Open platform for creating web-standard solution-base, the Opera Devices SDK to formulate an ideal foundation to build a full web browser and Opera 'user interface' leads to ease of customization and distribution of content to global markets by enabling the delivery of web applications, widgets, full web browsing and raise standards like HTML5, HbbTV and OIPF.

According to Krogh, Opera ability to address key initiatives hybrid broadcast-broadband in many markets make the company fit with Sony.
Previously, customers are required to have a variety of devices to be able to surf the Internet while watching television. After the home electronic devices become more connected, stylish use of the Internet is changing. Internet becomes closer to everyday life, such as the ability to enjoy video on-demand services on television, exchange ideas with their friends through social networking sites that are on television they watch, and buy directly online their goods see on television.
